Preparing for an Ultrasound

When scheduling your appointment, please notify our staff if you have any specific medical conditions relevant to the examination. Depending on the area being assessed, specific preparation instructions might be provided, such as fasting for abdominal ultrasounds.

During the ultrasound, you’ll be comfortably positioned, and a gel will be applied to the skin over the area being examined. This gel assists in transmitting sound waves and obtaining clear images.

What happens during the Ultrasound

Our skilled technician will use a handheld device called a transducer, which emits high-frequency sound waves, capturing real-time images of the targeted area. The procedure is painless and typically takes a short amount of time.

There’s usually no need for fasting or anaesthesia for most ultrasound examinations.

Accessing your results

Your ultrasound images will be digitally accessible for review by our medical team. If you were referred, your healthcare provider will receive a comprehensive report promptly, enabling them to discuss the findings and recommendations with you during a follow-up appointment.

Printed copies of the images can be provided upon request (additional charges may apply).
