Frequently asked questions

Are health screenings covered by insurance?

Executive health screenings are generally on a self-pay and claim arrangement (if applicable). Your health screening or imaging test(s) might be covered or eligible for corporate rates through insurance or corporate agreements, please check with your company HR or insurance provider for details.

What if executive health screening is part of my corporate health package?

If your executive health screening is part of an employer-paid package, your company may cover the cost. Please check with your HR department about the specifics of what your corporate health package covers.

Do I need to fast? How reliable are non-fasting tests?

Fasting is generally not required for the health screening packages offered. However, if you have opted for ultrasound add-ons, it’s advisable to check with our medical concierge or healthcare provider regarding any fasting requirements specific to the ultrasound tests.

Non-fasting tests provide accurate results because they measure parameters that remain relatively stable over time, reflecting overall health trends rather than immediate effects.

Can I continue taking my medication before the screening?

Yes, in most cases, you should continue taking your medications as prescribed before the screening. However, if there are specific medications or supplements that you’re unsure about, it’s advisable to consult us for guidance.

What will happen after the screening?

After the screening, our staff will update you once the results are available. We recommend scheduling a health screening review with our doctor to discuss your results comprehensively. Health screening review can be done by phone or in-person.

During this review, the doctor can provide insights, answer any questions you may have, and offer recommendations based on your individual health profile.

What does the health screening service include?

The package includes a private pod or VIP suite, a personalized health report, a one-to-one GP review with recommendations, light refreshments, and complimentary parking.

What do I need to prepare for health screening?

Fasting is not obligatory unless you’ve opted for the Ultrasound Abdomen test, in which case an 6-hour fast is necessary. Drinking plain water is recommended. You may continue your medication for chronic conditions such as hypertension and cholesterol, but refrain from taking diabetic medication until after having breakfast.

The following documentation is required for the screening: – Identification (NRIC/Work Permit/Passport) – Company letter, authorisation letter or staff pass (where available) – Medical report and radiology films/reports from last health screeing (where available)

Are there any health checks or tests that cannot be conducted during a non-fasting health screening?

If you are planning to go for an abdominal ultrasound, please ensure that you have fasted for at least 6 hours before your scheduled appointment.

How does a non-fasting health screening affect the results of my cholesterol test?

There should be minimal variance in your cholesterol levels between fasting and non-fasting blood samples, with the results typically indicating normal cholesterol levels.

How does a non-fasting health screening affect the accuracy of my glucose test results?

HbA1C serves as a diagnostic tool for diabetes, providing insights into blood glucose control over the preceding three months by gauging sugar molecules affixed to red blood cells. Simultaneously, a non-fasting random blood glucose test is conducted. It’s important to note that the normal threshold for random blood glucose differs from that of fasting blood glucose.

In the event of abnormal results in random blood glucose or HbA1C tests, a fasting blood glucose test might be necessary to validate a diagnosis of diabetes or prediabetes.

Are there any specific things I should avoid before a health screening?

Although fasting is not mandatory, we recommend refraining from consuming alcohol or indulging in a heavy meal before your blood test.

For individuals undergoing a Treadmill Stress Test, it may be necessary to discontinue certain blood pressure medications like beta-blockers beforehand.

Additionally, it’s advisable to abstain from smoking or consuming caffeinated beverages for at least three hours prior to the test.
